Local Data Storage
CS Player stores information locally on your device to provide functionality:
- Media Library Data - Information about media files you access through the app (file paths, metadata, playback position)

- Thumbnails - Generated thumbnails for media files

Storage Permissions
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO - Required to access and play your media files
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Required to save downloaded files (Android 9 and below)
Network Permissions
- INTERNET - Required to stream online content and download files
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - Used to check network connectivity for downloads
Other Permissions
- WAKE_LOCK - Keeps device awake during downloads
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE - Enables background downloads to continue
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC - Used for torrent download service
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - Allows resuming downloads after device restart
- MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS - Used for volume control gestures
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS - Shows download progress notifications (Android 13+)
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS - Ensures downloads continue in background
All permissions are used solely for app functionality and not for data collection.
Data Usage
Media Playback
When you play media files:
- Files are accessed from your local storage or streamed from URLs you provide
- Playback position and settings are stored locally for resume functionality
- No viewing data is transmitted to external servers
Downloads
When you download files:
- Files are saved to your device storage
- Download metadata (filename, size, progress) is stored locally
- Torrent/magnet downloads use peer-to-peer connections directly with other peers
- We do not monitor or log your download activity
Streaming
When you stream content:
- Content is streamed directly from the source URL you provide
- No intermediary servers process your streaming data
- Your IP address may be visible to the content source (standard internet protocol)
Third-Party Services
CS Player does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services. However:
- When streaming or downloading content, you connect directly to external servers/peers
- We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external content sources
- We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any services you access through the app
Children's Privacy
CS Player does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect any personal information from users of any age. Parents should supervise their children's use of the app to ensure appropriate content access.
